Being a moderator isn't really about being good at minecraft, that's called being good at minecraft. Being a moderator means earning spec's trust, so that he trusts you not to abuse the powers of a moderator. If you are accepted you need to understand it is about keeping the server safe from griefers, hacker, spammers and anyone else who breaks the rules. However being a good minecrafter can help
